Summary
Explore Banff National Park and ski in three different resorts, experience the Icefields Parkway and go ice-walking in Jasper.
Deep in the Canadian Rockies, the scenery here is sensational. With skiing for all abilities plus unbeatable off-slope activities, it’s perfect for families and mixed groups with non-skiers.
With its pristine setting, Lake Louise is Canada’s largest single ski area. The pistes and back bowls are excellent, and non-skiers can go ice-skating on the frozen lake. From here, the journey to Jasper follows one of the world’s most scenic highways, the Icefields Parkway. Trimmed with glaciers, we usually spend a full day enjoying it but it’s possible to do the drive in three hours.
Expect a big welcome when you arrive in Jasper. It’s one of the friendliest resorts we’ve visited, while the slopes are famously uncrowded and the local ice-walks are spectacular. Finally, Banff is a great place to finish-up, with two local ski areas and more than 100 bars and restaurants in town. Our favourite non-ski activities here include the guided walks and hot springs.

Suggested Itinerary
This sample 14-day itinerary is our suggestion of how you could divide your time between skiing, winter activities and road-trips. For a special treat or honeymoon, we recommend upgrading to the 5* Fairmont properties.
All our ski safaris are completely customisable, and you can adjust the itinerary to suit your preferences - whether that means more skiing, more sightseeing or following our route in reverse.
Lake Louise
Touchdown in Calgary and pick up your hire vehicle for the two and a half hour drive to Lake Louise.
Lake Louise - Spend five days skiing on this remote resort’s two mountains, staying at the 5* Fairmont Chateau. For a magical non-ski ski day, go dog-sledding through the wilderness, followed by ice-skating on the lake and cocktails or hot chocolate in the lounge of the Fairmount.
Jasper
Icefields Parkway - Follow this wilderness corridor through Unesco-listed landscapes as you travel to Jasper past emerald lakes and sparkling peaks. It’s possible to drive through in three hours but it’s better to take your time.
Jasper - Enjoy four days of skiing in Jasper’s Marmot Basin, staying at the 5* Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Take a break from the slopes to go snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or ice-walking at Maligne Canyon.
Banff
Spend five full days in the bustling town of Banff, skiing at Sunshine Village and Mount Norquay. Stay at the 5* Fairmont Banff Springs and go ice walking in Johnston Canyon, watch an ice hockey game and relax in the hot springs.
