Panorama has announced an extra 128 acres of 'monstrous' expert terrain for 2017/18, including an epic 6.5 km double-black diamond run fittingly named 'The Monster'.

'The Monster' joins three more new double-black diamond lines which will test even the most experienced skiers on the mountain. The 128-acre expansion takes Panorama's vertical to 1,300 metres (one of the largest in North America) and is just the first phase of a 500-acre expansion planned for the next few years.

Take in the view before tackling the new terrain, you won't want to stop

Panorama has long been one of our favourite family-friendly resorts with some of the best intermediate terrain in North America, but the awe-inspiring Taynton Bowl has meant that advanced and expert skiers are more than catered for too. Now they have an even bigger playground to explore.

The new terrain is the kind usually reserved for heli-skiers, with wide-open areas, steep, deep and long descents and excellent snow retention. It's the perfect warm up for a day with RK Heliski, which operates out of Panorama. Many of our team are itching to try it out this coming winter.

Named North American Resort of the Year at the World Snow Awards last year, book your 2017/18 Panorama ski holiday by 15 November and receive up to 30% off accommodation. See our Panorama offers for a range of package deals throughout the season or request a tailor-made quotation online.

One of the handful of non-skiers before joining Ski Safari, I've now skied in North America, Europe and Asia. After my first taste of powder and tree skiing in Japan last winter, I'm looking forward to more off-piste adventures!
