Steep & Deep
Although most resorts have at least a handful of challenging runs, the following resorts all offer terrain that will push even the very best skiers and boarders. Each has its own characteristics and which you choose will probably depend on the other features you are looking for in a resort. If you need any further information, please ask - we've skied them all!
Red Mountain
Low-key laid back resort with superb go-anywhere terrain. Plenty of trees and lots of bumps. You can ride the lift to the top of the mountain all day and ski a different line each time.
Kicking Horse
Three high bowls offer a huge amount of off-piste terrain with great powder accumulation when it snows. From the ridges between the bowls there is a good choice of steep chutes and there are some good tree runs lower down.
Jackson Hole
Jackson has some of the most challenging in-boundary terrain anywhere in North America. In fact many skiers will find the piste-skiing challenging enough. Superb off-piste of all kinds and some of the most famous chutes and cliffs in the world.
Snowbird
The huge snowfall the canyons to the east of Salt Lake City receive means a good chance of powder conditions at Snowbird. And its not just any powder, its some of the lightest, driest stuff there is. The terrain is varied and interesting; bowls, glades, chutes. One of the best.
