Sun Valley Resort is a complex of buildings mainly from the 1930s and 40s clustered around a small pedestrianised village. Properties include the famous Sun Valley Lodge and Sun Valley Inn as well as a range of apartments and condos. The resort has its own ice rink and cinema and a selection of shops and restaurants. It is a short shuttle ride to the slopes of Bald Mountain - the original ski hill. Dollar Mountain, today's main ski area is 5 minutes away by shuttle.

The Sun Valley Lodge has 148 rooms featuring French country interiors and furnishings, marble appointed bathrooms, flat-screen plasma televisions, DVD players, air conditioning and high-speed Ethernet internet access. There is a dining room, lounge, salon & spa, massage centre, sauna, swimming pool, workout facility, bowling alley, game room, room service, concierge and gift shop.

The Sun Valley Inn has been completely remodeled in recent years and all rooms feature exquisite appointments including custom European furnishings, all wool carpeting, marble bathrooms and vanities, handsome hickory veneer paneling, air conditioning, and flat screen plasma televisions and high-speed Ethernet internet access. Guests also enjoy the new and very popular Inn Lobby Lounge, the luxurious year-round glass enclosed outdoor pool, a workout facility, concierge and coin operated laundry.
