"Good facilities, shame alot of the mountain was closed due to lack of snow. Very helpful people working in the resort especially the Kids Vacation Centre."

"Not long returned from Steamboat, short of snow first week but the company and weather made up for that. Second week saw plenty of snow to keep the group happy. Stayed in studio apartments in the Steamboat Grand, breckfast inc, not a bad word to be heard from anyone! Excellent Free bus service running every 10 mins into town plus the use of hotel shuttle, ski/boot stowage close to lifts made getting on and off the hill easy. Another year with ski safari thanks to James and Team look forwards to the next one."

"A beautiful resort. A great place for families (probably one of the best places for families I have ever been to and I have visited many resorts). Getting downtown is really easy with the free shuttle services so there is no need for your own transport. The town is a bit touristy but still a working town and worth visiting. The mountain restaurants are quite pricey but it is much cheaper (and in my opinion better) to eat at the base of the main slope (Slopeside or Ptarmigan Inn). My nine year old had a great time skiing with the excellent ski school and my wife (non-skier) had a good time in the town. When there is not the usual vast amount of snow I'd highly recommend staying to the main pistes."

"Just back from a Xmas stay at Steamboat. A great, friendly resort! The distance from Denver (about a 3 1/2 hr drive) was not a problem for us with the transfers (arranged by Ski Safari) easy. The snow during our early season stay was fairly average particularly in comparison with recent seasons we understand - however, they make every effort to make snow and keep the slopes in fantastic condition so we still enjoyed our skiing thorughly. It did snow hard on one day of our trip which made the skiing for two of the days really great and we understood why their champagne powder is so famous! Our son (6), who joined the Jackalopes programme, enjoyed ski school thoroughly with a fantastic instructor and a real emphasis on enjoyment. The local restaurants are good and the service throughout the resort and downtown was excellent as you come to expect in the US. There are numerous activities outside skiing that one can enjoy and we particularly enjoyed our visit to the hot springs half an hour'd drive out of town. We'd recommend Steamboat thoroughly and particularly to families."

"9 days too long for this resort, we skied it out by 6 days. Should have hired a car to be able to travel elsewhere! Good snow quality but not steep enough relies too much on its very nice tree skiing, odd uplift layout, inadequate/poor location on run signage, over graded runs but nice if you are just past begineer, poor enforcement on fast skiers by resort staff, wouldn't return."

"Steamboat Springs is an absolute skier's/Boarder's paradise. True champagne powder snow and when it snows, it snows! Vast area with challenges for everyone and lift queues; what lift queues? Better to stay slope side than downtown; easier to go downtown for entertainment (if needed) than to come into the resort to ski (logistically).
Apre ski is early here; they don't do late nights."

"We stayed at the Steamboat Grand which is in a perfect location for the ski slopes. We went with our two young children and it was great not having to catch a bus to the ski slopes everyday. The hotel is clean and the staff were pleasant. The hotel shuttle bus was great for taking us into town in the evenings. The Steamboat ski school was excellent and focused mainly on having fun, which our children loved! We would go back to Steamboat again!

"I would definately recommend Steamboat as a family destination. The slopes were varied but not too difficult or worrying for children. People were extremely friendly. I loved the fact everything was very near to each other so you did not have to trek for miles with ski equipment."

"Just booked our Lift Tickets and Skis thro Ski Safari this time - much cheaper than in Steamboat or other tour companies. And thankful we did, it was Spring break in the US and a huge shortage of skis! All those who had pre-booked online were given priority. Steamboat a great resort, fantastic extensive skiing, good choice of restaurants (but not so many on the mountain) and locals very friendly and helpful. Try skiing with the Ambassadors programme - a chance to ski with a guide (and with different people - but no more than 5) to show you how to get around the mountain - free. We did it every morning, with a different Ambassador, and they were all brilliant and good fun. "
