Switzerland Holidays

Our Expert

"Davos really is the place to go if you are after awesome skiing and a buzzing nightlife! The resort has lots of amenities and plenty to keep you occupied off the slopes - you certainly won't get bored here!"

Our Tips

On The Mountain

  • Free Riding - the Pischa mountain is one of the largest free-riding areas in Switzerland. It has unprepared runs for those powder days but which are also protected from Alpine risks.
  • Night Skiing - on Fridays, the Bolgen lift on the Jakobshorn and the Rapid chairlift on Parsenn are flood lit.
  • Snow Bars - the Igloo Village is located in the middle of the Parsenn mountain at Hauptertaeli. During the day, pop in and have a drink at the bar or have a lunch time fondue. And in the evening, you can spend the night on the pistes, when the village turns into a hotel complete with hot tub. A great on-piste bar on Parsenn to check out is the Schneebar Totalp for a quick "Kaffi-Schnapps" or two. If you fancy a soak in the hot tub at the top of the mountain, try the Jatzhutte at the top of the Jakobshorn.
  • Restaurants - our top tip for a delicious fondue is to take the funicular up to the Schatzalp (which has a very interesting past and spectacular views of the resort). At the end of your meal, polish off a shot of Williams, hire a toboggan and race back down to Davos. Our favourite lunch time spot is Chalet Güggel on the Jakobshorn - it's a real sun trap and serves up a good Roesti and Glühwein. Or for lunch with a view, there's a great restaurant at the top of the Weissfluhgipfel.

Off The Mountain

  • Apres Ski - head to the Morosani Posthotel nightclub. The whole of Davos will be there.
  • Non-Ski Activities - book tickets for a game at the ice-hockey stadium and watch the famous local side go head to head on the ice, go ice-skating on the largest natural ice rink in Europe or try cross country skiing and explore the beautiful surroundings on the numerous "Loipen" accessible from Davos.
  • Tobogganing

    • Rinerhorn mountain has a 3.5km toboggan run and on Wednesdays and Fridays you can night sledge until 11pm.
    • Toboggan runs Schatzalp, 2.5 km and 3.3 km, drop of  300 m
