Norway Ski Holidays

The birthplace of skiing, Norway ski holidays are our top choice for families and beginners, while the fjords and frozen lakes are simply stunning.

Norway’s passion for snow sports makes it a superb winter holiday destination. With a ski heritage that dates back more than 4,000 years, they’ve won more gold medals in the Winter Olympics than any other nation.

Uncrowded and unintimidating, the slopes are ideal for beginners and intermediates, while the fjords and frozen lakes create a magical backdrop. If you’re venturing off-piste, the snow is often untracked and the conditions in Gausta, Norefjell, Myrkdalen and Voss are particularly good.

For families, the English-speaking ski schools and well-planned ski villages are some of the best in Europe. Geilo and Beitostølen are long-standing favourites among the parents in our team, who find Norway’s fantastic non-ski activities invaluable for keeping everyone entertained - from dog-sledding to snow rafting, there’s something for all ages.

From November to May, Norway’s conditions are so reliable that many resorts offer a snow guarantee - they’ll refund your lift pass if there isn’t enough coverage, making it a great late-season option. And if you’re visiting Geilo or Voss, we definitely recommend taking the train - one of the world’s most scenic journeys, the Oslo to Bergen railway stops in both resorts.

"Norway is perfect for beginners and intermediates, with its wide, confidence-boosting terrain, while more experienced skiers can venture off-piste or hit the terrain parks. The relatively short flight makes weekend skiing possible, with most resorts served by good connections to and from the airport."
