"Great resort and fantastic skiing. The accommodation was first class apart from very noisy white goods! Go snowmobiling to the frozen lakes and Inuit hut, it's a riot. The only disappointment was the excessive tipping culture even when service is poor."

""Wow one giant playground,we stayed in the excellent Fairmont Chateau and it was everything you could ever wish for. Best Holiday ever, the Whistler and Blackcomb mountains had great snow and the pistes were in great condition. All abilities and types of skiing were catered for. We skied down the glacier and that was absolutely unforgetable. There are lots of bars and restaurants some quite and some noisy but all good.""

"Only my second ski holiday, and I'm sure my Whistler trip has set a standard that can't be surpassed! Stayed at the Westin for 10 nights in mid Feb and had a brilliant time. Amazing snow, friendly resort - you couldn't fail to have a great time here. "

"We went to Whistler over Christmas for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. We ranged from complete beginners to expert skiers and boarders and there was something for everyone. The ski school was very well organised and the instructors excellent. I would definatley recommend Whistler for families and skiers of all abilities."

"This was our second trip to Whistler and it did not fail to disappoint. We had an absolutely spectacular time with fabulous snow conditions and plenty of interesting ski runs - on the odd occasion we would find ourselves to be the only ones on a run, despite being there during the Christmas/New year period. Having said that, we're not sure if we would go there again during that time - it was very busy and the queues at times from the village and the Excelerator and Garbanzo Express chairs were long. We do look forward to going back to Whistler again in the future - sadly I am still looking at the webcams on a daily basis and wishing we were still there!
If you are staying at a hotel on a room only basis and looking for a cheaper breakfast that's not so enormous, try Moguls Coffee House in the Village Square or the baker/creperie which is just off the Village Stroll. Sushi Village and the Mountainside Cafe were great places to eat out and we enjoyed several drinks after skiing in the Fire Rock lounge in the Westin Resort Hotel"

"Superb resort with efficient and friendly ski-ing organisation. Stayed at Summit Lodge which was a real treat and in a quiet location away from the bustle.

"Stayed at the Fairmont Chateau which was pure luxury, spent a great 8 days skiing on the wide open runs,. It was the end of the season (end April/Early May) and absolute bliss! Would love to go back soon.....

"Great skiing - most importantly you can ski anywhere within the ski area boundary as the whole area is made avalanche safe - not just the pistes/trails as happens in Europe. This is so much better than the European system and provides endless opportunities and fun.
There are also lots of trees to play in and around when the weather closes in.
Beer and food is more expensive than it used to be and I don't think it's any cheaper than Europe now - I assume this just applies to Whistler as it has got so big and commercialised now.
Having said that - if you like skiing then go there.

"Can I ever go back to European resorts?
Spent a fantastic 2 weeks in Whistler, staying in an apartment in Stoney Creek Lagoons. This was a great location, close to a supermarket, boozer and with a bus stop just across the road (although it was only a 10min walk to the lifts)
Had over a metre of fresh snow fall in the time we were there which was very much the icing on the cake of a great trip.
Apres is not quite what I'm used to from European trips - people seem to head home and pretty themselves up before heading out for a few quiet drinks. The Austrians still do the best apres ski! Avoid the Long Horn for apres as it charges about 20% more than everyone else for beers. GLC is not a bad spot right at the base of the piste.
Not having a language barrier was great, and the Canadians are super friendly.
There are plenty of options to choose from on both Whistler and Blackcomb, although the latter is probably better for the more adventerous. Having said that, groups of mixed abilities will find plenty to keep them happy and still be able to meet up at the bottom of the chair each time.
I'm definitely going back...maybe in summer with my bike ;-)

"Thank you for organising our trip to Whistler. You were right we all loved it. The mountain, skiing and hotel were great. Need to go back again as did not have time to fall down every slope.

"I have visited this resort twice this season and can highly recommend it. The Ski school (kids and adults) knocks spots off Europe!

"The Kids Ski school was great - they really know how to make it fun - loads of breaks at the beginning when our son's jelly legs meant he really wasn't doing much and then by the end of the week he had been taken right up to the top of the Gondola and was skiing down to the midstation (described to me by my son as doing 20 HUGE mountains!). Couldn't fault them.

"Lacks the on mountain apres ski of some European resorts. Whistler is expensive but there are plenty of good restaurants and lots of activities for any non skiers. Skied on ice for the first 7 days then the snow came and wow!
