"We're just back from the most amazing trip to Whistler. What made it so amazing? Firstly we picked the perfect time it appears. With the Olympics due to start everyone else seemed to have stayed away. We had whole pistes to ourselves and didn't have to queue once for a lift in the 10 days we skied there, it made for very tiring days with so much skiing. Secondly the organisation of our holiday was a dream. Ski Safari had everything covered which made getting there a breeze. Lift tickets were ready, ski rentals were easy, the accomodation was excellent, all in all I can't see how it could have been improved without the invention of a time machine to teleport me to the resort. Lastly we had perect conditions. Powder on several mornings, not too cold but cold enough to keep the snow in perfect condition and Whistler's relaxed apres, perfect.
We'll return to Whistler even though we know we'll never have the resort to ourselves in quite the same way again (we've been before) and we'll go with Ski Safari. Yes we could have put this holiday together ourselves but I don't think we would have saved a great deal and for the second time with Ski Safari everything went like a dream and that is worth paying for.
If you've not been to Whistler you need to plan to go but don't be surprised when you want to go back every year instead of putting up with lift queues full of rude people in the Alps. It's the friendly people, the wide open spaces, the relaxed town and the perfect snow that put Whistler leaps and bounds ahead of the Alps."

"wide open runs, friendly staff and having the mountain to yourself for most of the week - what more could you ask for? Good range of restaurants to choose from but make sure you book on a Friday and Saturday night!"

"We found it very expensive to eat out, but fabulous skiing."

"One of our first North American adventures, the start of an addiction. Can't complain about the snow, flakes came down every day. Great domain, lots of variety, excellent off piste and glade skiing. Highly recommended. Stay at the Four Seasons, budget allowing."

"This is a big mountain and we only scratched the surface, some of the blues could be blue/blacks so be wary and do not over estimate your ability. Mountain catering was not as expensive as we thought it would be. Try the demo ski service, this is a great idea, for 2 hours you can road test the latest skis at no cost, just make sure you have your credit card, they do like ID as well."

"Still a great ski town - ' Disneyland ' for skiers, with extensive terrain, good snow, and great facilities in the 'village' ."

"Stayed in the Four Seasons, Whistler for the second year running this Jan and everything about the resort and hotel gets better and better. Every ability of skier/boarder are more than catered for, with a huge variety of runs to enjoy. The Ski Concierge at the Four Seasons in Blackcomb adds the finishing touches and is an absolute joy. "

"Fantastic resort, has everything, great terrain and great apres ski, very family friendly.Canadians are so friendly and welcoming, and everyone in resort is charming and helpful. We love skiing in North America, but Whistler is probably one of the best resorts we have been lucky enough to visit"

"Huge variety of skiing terrain, all areas easily accessible from Creekside; despite Whistler's reputation for cloud, wind and rain it was usually possible to find good weather somewhere. Lots of powder and vast 'off-piste' options within the ski boundary. We travelled in late March/early April and had large snowfalls 50+cm across a week.
The Ski Esprit part of ski-school is an enjoyable and sociable way to combine ski guiding with some teaching.
Creekside is lovely and quiet but just a 5minute bus ride from Whistler; with older teens we might prefer to be in Whistler itself. Teen ski school only operates out of Whistler village; we benefit from an unscheduled 'Adventure week' with the same instructor which was worth having.
We plan to return! "

"We came back from Canada on Monday 30th March 2008. Skiing is fantastic at Whister/Blackcomb, particularly with the new Peak to Peak. We don't like doing the same runs all week and didn't have to here. There is plenty to keep ypu going and we skied for 9 days. It snowed for most of the time we were there, but we did get three beautiful sunny days. Avoid the double blacks if you don't like moguls, as they don't piste them at all. Having been to the States before and not being impressed, I can definately say that we will go back to Whistler, as they do actually groom the piste, which we found was lacking in the States. The Pan Pacific at Whistler Village is excellent. We don't like hotels particularly, but we had a two bedroomed apartment here and breakfast was also included. This was the best of both worlds and the apartment was fantastic with all the mod cons you would wish for, including a dishwasher etc. The hotel staff could not do enough for you and were really helpful with whatever you needed. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Our skiis were sent over to Pan Pacific Mountainside and were lockered there, so we just needed to take our boots with us every morning and walk over, which took about 5 mins and wasn't any stress, (locker room way too hot though!) then pick your gondola, either Blackcomb or Whistler, which are both just outside the rear entrance. Literally ski in/out. The only waiting we did was on the Saturday (Spring Break). Otherwise we hardy even had to wait at all. Recommend using the ski guide on your first day, which you can pick up at "the Rendezvous" on the mountain. They will take you for about 2 hours and show you the mountain and had good tips for how to get down if the weather came in (which is does really quickly). They are free and if you give them a tip, this goes to the mountain rescue dogs, so this was money well spent........never know when you will need one ! Just need to save up the funds to go again ! Europe just won't be the same with their grotty chalets.........

"First visit to the combined Whistler & Blackcomb mountains . Literally skied in and skied out of the Marriott accomodation which was both comfortable and spacious . Extremely friendly , helpful staff and very high standards of hygiene and breakfast choice.Would absolutely recommend the resort for all standards of skier with Blackcomb offering the more challenging slopes and the Peak to Peak trip as an eye opening experience. Throw in a day trip to Vancouver and you have everything a ski holiday should be."
