Expert Opinion

"I really like Tremblant as it is so easy to get to. It has a distinctly French feel but with the Canadian level of service. Don’t miss the Scandinave Spa near the resort with its hot & cold pools and the chance to jump into a half frozen river. Tremblant is also perfect for a combined break with Montréal for great shopping in the underground malls."

"This was our (family of 4) first visit to Canada and we had a great time. Tremlant is ideal for families. The snow was perfect (every day), the runs not too busy and the restaurants where excellent. It can get very, very cold so wrap up your children and better halves or you'll spend the afternoons in 'Le Shack'- a great bar/restaurant at the bottom of the piste. Ski clothing is very expensive in the resort so get all your ski gear from home. Weekends are very busy and we decided not to Ski Sat pm as the queues where too long. Bars and restaurants are also get busy so I would advise booking. The prices in restaurants are very similar to the UK with the exception of alcohol. The resort is much quieter come weekdays. We have never skied as much together as a family but with so many perfect runs our young son (7) skied every day with us. A truly fabulous holiday, thanks Ski Safari."

"We have skied many resorts in Canada and enjoyed them all and this time we chose Tremblant on the East Coast because the journey time from the UK was much shorter than to other resorts in the Rockies or in Western Canada. We are a mixed family group including a 65 year old Grandma and a 12 year old teen. We all skied as there are runs for all levels of skier. The resort is very picturesque with plenty to do when you don't want to ski. There are open air fires all around the resort and in the village where you can sit and watch the world go by. The resort is very family oriented with lots of entertainment for children, including open air ice skating, a great tubing park, dogsledding etc. For adults there is an amazing open air Nordic spa as well as other spas and treatments. There is a good range of bars and a variety of restraunts to suit all tastes and plenty of shops to buy from or browse in. We stayed in a two bedroomed condo in the Ermitage du Lac and we were very impressed by the standard of rooms and the friendly and helpful staff. An added bonus was a substantial free breakfast where you could eat as much as you liked sitting by a roaring log fire. Avoid the weekend of Presidents day (2nd week in Feb) if you can as it can get a bit crowded. Before we left we received very good advice from the Ski Safari rep who were very knowlegeable about the resort."

"Had a great time. This is our 6yr at Tremblant but the first time we have used Ski Safari's service we would use again and have recommended friends. This is a great resort for families. The slopes cater for all abilities and with the snow making facilities skiing is always good. "

"As first-time skiiers, Tremblant is a perfect resort. The ski school instructors are excellent, the slopes are wide and everyone is very friendly. We had a great time. "

"We had a great time in Tremblant. The hotel was very good and the staff attentive though the lunch menus were rather limited - I guess because most guests are up on the slopes and either lunch there or nearer the village.

The skiing was fine though not as many piste choices as compared with Whistler. The weather was bright and very cold at first but the last 2 days the thaw set in and even at the mountain top it was reportedly +2 degrees. The last day skiing was not really possible.

For the non-skier there are few options in the village the cinema is very small and old and the shops not very varied but we found it a very agreeable atmosphere and the restaurants were better than Whistler; in the area more numerous and quality was better. Menus were however rather sameish. "

"Having skied in a number of resorts around Canada and the US, Tremblant has been the first that we have wanted to return to 2 years running. The flights and transfer times are great, the resort is accessible and so friendly, and most importantly the ski school and children's facilities are first rate. Would definitely recommend this resort to anyone, but especially those with small families. We have already booked to return in 08!"

"Having skied most of Europe, Canada was a new challenge. Tremblant is there now with superb runs for all abilities. The most fantastic thing is the proximity of accommodation to the slopes. Almost unheard of in Europe. We are talking 40 meters from accommodation at the Hilton to the bottom of the South Side. Tons of other activities to do as well and for families, being pedestrianised, the village is very safe. Make sure you check out the North Side for long glade skiing. Be aware things can get busy so this is a ski resort where you want to be at the lifts at 8.30 in the morning. Being only 1.5 hours from Montreal it does get busy at weekends! But the slopes do seem to absorb huge numbers of people without feeling crowded. Couple of points of advice. Hire a Car with Ski Safari Platinum Package - superb value and prebuy your ski pass as well as this is also great value. Hiring skis and boots is painful unless you are there FIRST thing. One word of warning. On the return make sure you head for the "Dorval" airport as the signs do not say Montreal International - do not head for Mirabelle airport. Great holiday, great place and will return. Still so much to do. Have fun!! "

"The resort is excellent, all is within VERY easy reach of the slopes and very very pretty. Everyone is really helpful and courteous. The ski school is of a high standard and lessons were enjoyable, my neice progressed from never skiing to blue runs less than10 days. Hilton Homewood suites were great value for money and 2 mins from the slopes. Dog sledding is a MUST when you are there, fabulous fun. Only minus point? the forms and length of time to secure your hired boots and/or skis, takes ages, so be prepared for a queue in high season and/or changeover days! But we will definately be back to Canada/Temblant, it's fabulous. "

"Tremblant is a great resort for families - especially with mixed abilities. "

"We have visited Tremblant twice now during the ski season. The resort itself is like something out of a fairytale. There are lots of activities for those who don't ski - we went horseriding, tubing, ski-dooing, ice skating and swimming to name a few. My husband assures me the skiing is also excellent both on Mont Tremblant and at Gray Rocks (great for beginners) which is just a few miles away. "
