"Excellent mountain with lots of the steepest shutes you will find. Good tree runs. Eagles Eye on the top is one of the best lunch locations possible offering great quality at reasonable price CAD $15 for lunch. "

"Any mountain benefits enormously from a big dump but KH especially so. Went there in 2003 and again in Feb 2009 (with Ski Safari). In 2009 there had been no fresh snow for 15 days & what was left in trees/bowls/pistes was hard packed & icy & nasty. It was not fun but fortunately there was the Eagles Eye restaurant at the top of the Gondola - booze served from 11am. This mountain has the potential to be a great ride/ski for advanced level but only when the conditions allow - the alternatives are too limited in terms of runs and pitch. At the top the mountain would be perfect pitch, otherwise there are dreary blues (and the blacks on the lower mountain are really blue) for the bottom two thirds of the mountain. Lots of complaints about the lack of current lifts but this place has an expansion plan to increase terrain and lifts - head over to the demonstration centre for free glass of wine & nibbles & a model of the ultimate plan. But for now, fantastic mountain in good conditions but otherwise an expensive & long way to go for a great meal at the restaurant at the top of the Gondola. You book in advance and take your gamble with the weather."

"Not a resort for early skiers, with intimidating blues, particularly from top of gondola, and indifferent grooming at lower levels. But for more experienced skiers, up for a challenge, the drops off the ridges will supply enough adrenaline for a few days."

"Really good challenging skiing, even better if you do a bit of hiking (no more than a few minutes worth). My favourite trails were Glory (93), Terminator (24) and Gift Horse (106). If you suffer from vertigo then prepare to be scared - I do and I was!! And make sure you have dinner in the Eagle's Eye restaurant watching the sun go down - expensive but awesome."

"KHMR is stunning.
There is plenty of opportunity to "ski fresh" throughout the season .
Its HeliSkiing for the price of a lift ticket .
Get there before it "gets discovered".

"Kicking Horse is amazing. Get there before the crowds do! This resort has some amazing terrain and will challenge any level of boarder or skier. If you love steep and deep and backcountry this is THE place to go. We made a week long trip in the middle of a three month trip to Whistler. The light always fresh feeling snow in Kicking Horse simply blows away the heavy dull snow in Whistler.
Get here while it's still cheap!
