"2007 February Marble Mountain had the best snow they had had in 100 years. Skiing was excellent- pity we were in Italy with no new snow!"

"Having skied in europe for 15 years we decided to try somewhere different and have skied Marble Mountain for the last 3 years.
The snow is brilliant, no slush in the afternoons, and is extremely safe for our children because all 36 runs return to the ski lodge at the bottom.
Instructors are very good.
The whole ski package is very cheap in comparsion to europe. Family lift pass for 6 is about £400.00. There is enough sking there for all levels, except for those who need a different run every day, and they can go cat sking where you are brought to the top of a mountain in a piste basher with a heated cab and usually you can ski to the bottom in virgin snow. A new tube park was built last year and provided hours of fun for the kids.
For all visits we stayed at Humber Valley resort which is a ten minute drive from the mountain, and is a must if you have kids in your party because they can play around in safety through out the resort or take part in some of the activities organised for them in the resort.
Free shuttle bus from resort to mountain if you don't want to hire a car. The chalets at humber valley are beautiful and huge in comparision to what one gets in europe and are furnished to five star standard. All bedrooms with private baths.
Snowmobiling is big there, and should be tried although a little expensive.
All said the overall package is probably cheaper than one would pay for a similar holiday in europe and the travel time of less than 6 hours is also less than that of most european resorts. Click on www.humbervalley.com to see more

"We have skied at Marble Mountain for the last 6 years. Last year they had little snow until February half term and the season is usually over by the beginning of April. The pistes are well groomed and the instruction good. The lodge is huge, warm, friendly and the food and drink cheap. The runs have a good variety and the lifts are rarely crowded except at weekends and their Winter Festival Week 3rd week in February. People we met who stayed at the Humber valley resort said they felt isolated from really experiencing the 'Newfie' way of life. we have always stayed near the slopes and taken taxis into Corner Brook for dinner. Take-aways will also deliver.
