Castle Mountain Resort is located in the West Castle Valley in the south west corner of Alberta, in the Rocky Mountains, and 168 miles from Calgary.  It is an independently owned and run resort and as such it is not your standard ski resort. You get the feeling things are a little different here!!

It definitely is a real undiscovered gem and it you are looking for that true Canadian ski experience then you will find it here – don’t expect 5 star luxury that is not what Castle Mountain is all about...

The resort is renowned for long steep runs and an average 9 meters (30 ft) of snowfall yearly.  After fresh snowfall, rare is the day when you can't find fresh tracks at 3:30 pm once you're familiar with the forever changing terrain at Castle. It offers the shortest lines, the most powder and an all-natural skiing experience. Simply put it is a full service ski area with all of the amenities of the larger mountain resorts, without the larger mountain prices!

The opening of Mount Haig a few years ago added new terrain for intermediate and novice skiers. The rest of the terrain has been enjoyed by the locals in the know for the past forty years – it is steep and the snow is deep!

Castle Mountain Add-On - Castle is a great resort to stop at for a couple of days if you are on your way to or from Fernie or as part of a Rockies Loop Safari...
