"All-inclusive heli-skiing combined with unlimited vertical, small groups and world famous powder - all adds up to an incredible heli-skiing experience"

Overview

Luxury heli-skiing with unlimited vertical - means you ski more without the worry of paying more for those extra runs. Adding a few nights heli-skiing as part of your ultimate Ski Safari trip. This can be added to a Rockies loop or choose single resort - Kicking Horse or Revelstoke - or why not both...

Location:

Located in the powder belt of BC, Great Canadian’s lodge and helipad is in the most accessible location from an international airport of any heli operator.

Guests have exclusive use of Heather Mountain Lodge, with a maximum of only 24 other guests. The Lodge is easily accessed from Calgary, just 4 hours away on the TransCanada Highway. No further transfers needed!

The on-site heli-pad is 20 metres from the lodge, no daily transportation to the hangar required.

Terrain:

The interior ranges of British Columbia – the Selkirk (Rogers Pass) and Purcell mountains – are possibly the most famous powder skiing mountain ranges in the world. They can offer phenomenal amounts of light, dry powder snow, good flying conditions, tens of thousands of square kilometres of wilderness and ideal skiing weather.

Great Canadian Heli-Skiing has an exclusive licence to access the vast terrain in the Selkirk and Purcell mountain ranges along the north and east borders of Glacier National Park. With a tenure the equivalent of 13.5 x Whistler-Blackcomb's and a maximum of 24 skiers in the terrain at any time, there’s plenty of powder to go around!

Annual Snowfall: Great Canadian usually has a base of at least 3.5 metres (12 ft) and an annual snowfall of 14 metres (46 ft)!

Temperatures: Winter temperatures, on average, range between 7° to -15°C (20° to 5° F). Occasionally temperatures can fall below these ranges producing very cold weather -30° C (-18°F).

Season dates: 12 Dec 09 - 10 Apr 10

Getting there: 4 hours drive from Calgary International Airport on the TransCanada Highway - straight to the lodge.

Operating since: Great Canadian pioneered the concept of ‘boutique heli-skiing’ (ie small, personalised groups) when it started up in 1988.

Helicopters: The agile and powerful A-Star B2, the Lamborghini of the helicopter world.
