Ski resorts are about so much more than simply skiing and boarding. Many offer a vast range of other activities, both on and off mountain, with options to suit all tastes and budgets. We highly recommend adding a tour or two to your holiday to make the most of your time in resort.
Our Favourites:
Snowmobiling
From gentle runs on woodland tracks to high-adrenaline backcountry powder excursions, snowmobiling is a great way to see more of the mountain.
Snowmobiling tours are available at nearly every resort, with options/ durations to suit, some including meals and drinks and overnight options. The snowmobiling in the Yellowstone National Park as a day off from skiing in Jackson Hole is particularly recommended for its stunning scenery and the abundant wildlife – see this link for details http://www.twotopsnowmobile.com.
First Tracks
Be one of the first up the mountain to make the most of a powder day. Get the lift up the mountain early morning around 6am, enjoy an energy packed breakfast, before enjoying first racks down the mountain in time to catch the first lifts at the bottom. A must for any powder hungry skier/boarder.
Cat-skiing and heli-skiing
Access miles of fresh, untracked powder
Fernie Wilderness Adventure cat skiing add on
From 1 day cat-skiing packages including lunch, to 3 day packages with accommodation in their cozy cabin. A sample 7 night holiday – 3 nights in Fernie, 3 days/ 2 nights cat skiing package and a final night in Fernie including flights and transfers costs approximately £1,500 pp.
Whistler & TLH Heli-skiing
Travel to Whistler, acclimatise and get the legs going, then head 100kms north for 3 or 4 days heli-skiing with TLH. Bus transfers are included or you can upgrade to heli transfers. Prices start from £3,139 pp based on 2 people sharing for 5 nights Whistler, 3 days heli-skiing and 1 night in Vancouver including flights and transfers.

Various packages available including 3 days heli-skiing, a 1 day trip including lunch and a 1 night stay including dinner and breakfast.
Dog-sledding
A unique and historic way to experience winter in the mountains.

Tubing
Great fun for little kids and big kids alike, it normally takes place in the early evening and is now available in most resorts. A word of caution though, from personal experience if you suffer from a bad back it may be worth taking it slow.
Northern Lights Tour add on
Combine skiing in one or more of Canada’s Western resorts with a trip to the Yukon to witness the amazing natural phenomenon of the Aurora Borealis. Ski holidays are tailor-made to requirements and 2, 3 or 4 night Northern Lights viewing packages are available with optional add-on activities.
Zip-lining
Glide over spectacular creeks and through the tree-tops on a wire. Ziplining combines the thrill of flying with the security of being safely tucked into a harness, while zooming from platform to platform high above the valley below. Try it at night if you dare!
More Options:
Fondue
A traditional evening out, can often be combined with a snowmobile or snowcat ride. A favorite in the office is the Swiss Haven in Breckenridge, although you can’t in fact snowmobile or snowcat to this one.
Factory Outlet Shopping
Despite the weakening of the pound against the dollar, the outstanding factory outlet shopping available in New England is an extra attraction to skiing at Stowe, Killington, and Sunday River with most visitors taking at least a day out to grab some bargains. As Boston is only a 7 hour flight away, and with the resorts an easy 2-3 hr drive, it can also be a quick Ski/Shop getaway, from as short as 3 days.
Torchlit descent
A beautiful sight to behold and even better to be involved in, and a feature of almost every resort.
Sleigh rides
Great for families or as a romantic treat for couples. Can be combined with a fondue evening.
Snowshoe tours
Enjoy the tranquillity of the mountains as you trek through snowy forests and over alpine meadows.
Cross-country skiing
Starter packages available, including all you need for your first time. We have first-hand experience of many activities and can offer flexible booking arrangements that allow you to decide once in resort when to take your pre-paid tour. We’d love to talk to you about our experiences, so for more information and to book please get in touch.
Sun & Ski Twin Centres
Whistler & Hawaii
Perhaps the ultimate trip combining skiing/ snowboarding at one of the greatest resorts in the world with the sunshine on one of Hawaii's beautiful islands. From £1,950 pp for 7 nights at each location including flights, transfers and 4* accommodation.
Other luxury Ski & Sun combinations are available such as a week in a 5* resort in Barbados with skiing at exclusive Beaver Creek or Florida or Miami with Colorado ski resorts.
