Whistler is the Host Mountain Resort for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. As you watch the Olympic events on TV this February, pay close attention to the Alpine Skiing events happening on Whistler Blackcomb, the sliding events happening at Whistler’s Sliding Centre and the Cross Country, Biathlon and Ski Jumping events happening at Whistler Olympic Park. After the Games, the Whistler Sliding Centre and Whistler Olympic Park will be used for local sports and recreation, public tours, special events and future high-caliber competitions like World Cups. Whistler Blackcomb's average snowfall is 33 ft and winter 2006/07 was a season to remember in terms of snowfall....Whistler received an accumulative snowfall of 46 ft, the second snowiest on record!
4. Try out Whistler Blackcomb’s longest run
which is a lengthy 11kms, equal to 3.25 laps of the Monaco Grand Prix race track. Whistler’s total terrain of 8,171 acres is equivalent to almost ten of New York’s central park – plenty of space for everyone!
