The Arrabelle at Vail Square
The big news for the 2007/08 season was the opening of the Arrabelle at Vail Square.
Regular visitors to Vail will recall the original Gondola building which was at the centre of Lionshead. This not particularly attractive building was demolished in April 2005 to make way for The Arrabelle At Vail Square The Arrabelle.
Centrally located in Vail Square, just steps away from the Eagle Bahn Gondola and the slopes, The Arrabelle features 36 luxury hotel rooms and 50 additional condominiums that are based on the Biedermeier design style, an early 19th century German and Austrian art movement of simplicity, elegance and functionality. Additionally, the resort boasts a traditional Germanic Glockenspiel that will feature a celebration of snow.
Furnishings and fixtures in the rooms have been selected to provide an exceptionally high level of luxury and amenities. The Arrabelle has 67 residences and penthouses each with distinctive stunning views and luxurious finishes.
The Arrabelle features a 10,000-square-foot RockResorts Spa. Available are 11 treatment rooms, including facial rooms, a hydrotherapy room, a massage and dry treatment room, wet rooms with Vichy and Swiss showers; a fitness centre with top-of-the-line TechnoGym cardio equipment, personalized fitness trainer consultation services; a full-service nail salon; men’s and women’s locker rooms, each with whirlpool, steam room and dry sauna; private men’s and women’s relaxation lounges; and a retail outlet.
Dining at The Arrabelle provides a memorable experience at the resort’s mountainside restaurant, Centre V, a bustling, French-inspired brasserie.
New High Speed Chairs and Kid’s Ski School Facility
Vail Mountain has replaced the Highline Lift (Chair 10) and Sourdough Lift (Chair 14) with new high speed quad chairlifts. Both lifts shorten the ride to Two Elk Restaurant, China Bowl and Blue Sky Basin. The new Highline Lift, with a new ride time of seven minutes, delivers skiers and riders to the top of signature bump run, Highline, and adjacent expert trails.
The new Sourdough Lift has improved access to one of the resort’s popular beginner areas at the top of the mountain with three green runs. The new lifts increase Vail’s uphill lift capacity to 57,802 while also cutting in half the ride times in those areas. The Little Eagle Lift (Chair 15), in the dedicated beginner area at Eagle’s Nest at the top of the gondola in LionsHead, has been replaced with a faster triple chairlift.
In the village, the Golden Peak Children’s Center and Small World Nursery has being completely remodelled to increase space for the 3-6 year-old lessons.
