Entering the USA as a visitor

Citizens of most western European nations are eligible to enter the United States without a visa, based on the visa waiver program. The person traveling to the USA must fulfill the following criteria:
  1. The traveler is a citizen of one of the countries eligible under the visa waiver program (click here for a list of countries)
  2. Traveling on a valid, individual machine readable passport.
  3. Traveling for business, pleasure or transit only (i.e. not to work or take up residence)
  4. Staying in the United States for 90 days or less
  5. Is in possession of a return ticket
  6. Can prove they have enough funds to cover their stay in the USA
Note: A passport indicating that the bearer is a British Subject, British Dependent Territories Citizen, British Overseas Citizen, British National (Overseas) Citizen, or British Protected Person does not qualify for travel without a visa. A passport which states holder has Right of Abode or indefinite leave to remain in the United Kingdom does not qualify for visa free travel;

Emigrating to the USA
