Callaghan Backcountry Lodge
This is a great option for adding on to a stay in Whistler and the range of activities available - from snowshoeing to heli-skiing - means there is something for everyone. The journey out to the Lodge is an adventure in itself and packages include evening meal excursions, day trips, overnight adventures and 2-night trips.
Overnight trips all include return ground transfers from Whistler, return snowmobile or snow coach transfers to the lodge, all meals, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, snowshoes and cross country skis. Once at the lodge you can just relax and read a book by the fire, or enjoy the activities on offer. These include ski-touring - hiking up the mountains surrounding the lodge and then skiing huge tracts of untouched powder. Heli-skiing packages are also available. RK Heli-skiing - at Panorama
RK Heli-skiing is a superb operation which has introduced many people to the joys of heli-skiing. Skiers check in at the Hal Bevin Heli-Plex at 9:00 for registration and a safety briefing before departing by helicopter for the Purcell Mountains. More than 1700 sq miles of spectacular snow fields, glaciers and gladed tree runs await you and skiing altitude often exceeds 3000 metres. The day includes 3 descents, guide service, on mountain lunch and souvenir certificate.
Valle Nevado
A skiing holiday in Chile is really an adventure in itself but that aside, Valle Nevado is a great place to try heli-skiing. Prices are fairly affordable and the high altitude you will be flying at - almost as high as the helicopter is capable of flying - mean it will be an experience you won't forget!
THE ULTIMATE - Megayacht Heli-skiing
Stay on-board the luxury yacht Absinthe as it cruises the west coast of British Columbia. But instead of spending your days admiring the views and taking pictures of the scenery, the A-Star helicopter on the aft top deck will fly you into the Coastal Mountain Range to find untouched terrain laden with fresh snow. On-board guests are limited to 21 per week (crew number around 20!) with skiing in small groups of 3 to 5 people.
The trip doesn't come cheap, as you can imagine, but every detail is attended to and all gourmet meals are included as well as unlimited use of the helicopter. This really is the ultimate heli-skiing experience and is particularly suitable for a group or corporate trip.
